Hey critters!

Without further ado, here is the goal!

We are SO CLOSE to the goal! You all have been working hard to steadily increase the funding amount over the past week so we are over half way there already! The clothes won't unlock until we hit it, so make sure to keep sharing so we can get cute lil clothes for these guys made 🤍 

Once the goal is met, the clothes will be added to the add-ons section!
My plan is to have options to purchase the whole outfit and to purchase individual items.

🌱 Since the last update I have added character intros onto the story page!

They are short and sweet for now, but I definitely will be expanding on their stories in the future 🤍

We are getting so close to their plush being perfect. Getting the correct contrast for their colors & markings has proven to be tricky!





I am still waiting for the first prototypes for the other 4 characters to come in! In the meantime, here is a photo from my manufacturer : Clover, Frasier, and Briar together! I can't wait to see all of the characters complete and together like this.

Hey everyone!

I've been working hard behind the scenes the past few days and have some new updates for you 🤍

But first, let's celebrate hitting $50,000 in funding and 750 backers over the weekend! 🎉
I'm so happy you all love the project and want to help it come to fruition! Thank you so much for believing in me and my little critters ;__; 🤍 I want to plan something special to celebrate!

Anyways, onto the updates!

🌱 The prototypes for Willow, Honey, Rowan, and Juniper have started!

The first sample always takes the longest, so I should get my first look at them in 10-14 days. In the meantime, here are all their prototype sheets! I love sharing these because it’s fun to see how the art compares to the final plush, plus it’s a good example for anyone who is also thinking about manufacturing plushies!

As a reminder, it is my plan to leave surveys open until all of the prototypes are complete. I don't want to make anyone to have to make a blind decision!

🌱 Here is a look at Briar Wolf's latest sample!

Briar's sample is still a work in progress, but I wanted to show you all where their design is currently at!



These are the things we are changing going forward!

Aside from those things I really like how they are looking! I know some people will like the contrasted look more, but I want their features to look more subtle. Hopefully Briar will be complete within the next week or 2.

🌱 And lastly, a peek at my outfit concepts!

These are just my rough concepts! Nothing is set in stone yet.



I tried to make a decent range of clothing items and colors! Since it is our first run of clothes, I am trying to keep the designs relatively simple! I'll be going over fabric options and cost estimates this week with my manufacturer. Some things will ultimately be changed based on my manufacturer's capabilities and what fabric is available for me to choose from. I'll try to get everything budgeted out and get that next stretch goal up next week!

When it comes to stretch goals going forward, here is my plan:

Our pledges increase every day so I think we will be close to the clothing goal by the time it's up!

WOW guys! It has been less than 48 hours since launch and we have already unlocked ALL of the plushies!

I'm truly amazed with the outstanding amount of support that you have all poured into this project! Not to get sappy, but my heart is so full of love and my body is filled to the brim with a level of excitement and motivation that I have not felt in a long time! I feel totally revitalized creatively, spiritually, and emotionally. I'm so ready to get going with the rest of this project!

 As a reminder to anyone who has not pledged yet, the early bird freebie stickers are only available until 10am PDT / 1pm EDT tomorrow!
I also want to clarify that backerkit does NOT charge your card until after the campaign ends. I've had many people mention they are waiting to pledge until they get paid next but you don't have to worry! Nothing will pull out of your account until November 1st, so you have time to pledge and plan your payment.


🌱 Now that the plush are unlocked, what's next?

Within the next few days I will be putting in the order to start the plush prototypes for Willow, Rowan, Honey, and Juniper. Briar's sample was started before launch and is nearly complete! It usually takes us a few revisions to get everything looking perfect, so I expect the prototyping phase to take 4-8 weeks. Post-campaign surveys will remain open until all the plush prototypes are complete! You will be able to wait for the completed prototypes to be released to make your final decisions.

🌱 Next is one of the biggest anticipated features of this campaign : the clothes!

My idea is to have 2-3 articles of clothing for each plushie! As explained in the story of the campaign, these outfits will be what I personally envision the characters wearing in my Critterfolk World! You will be able to buy a specific character's complete "signature" outfit, or select individual articles of clothing to make your own wardrobe. The aesthetic of the clothing will lean into cottagecore, cabincore, and the like — meaning lots of natural colors, prints, and fabric if I'm able. There will still be pops of color, so don't worry about it being all neutral!

I am still working on finalizing the outfits for Clover, Briar, and Frasier, and conceptualizing the outfits for Willow, Rowan, Honey, and Juniper! My plan is to get the designing done and have the next stretch goal up by the 15th. That should still leave plenty of time for additional pledges to come in or be adjusted!

Before we get further along the line I must let you guys know now it is likely the clothes will be either: split into two smaller funding goals OR all part of a large all-or-nothing goal. It is a lot of small moving parts and unlike the plushies, it is hard for me to justify unlocking just 1 or 2 outfits. But hey, with how well we have done so far I think we will have no problem meeting a large goal again! I hope you can all understand this position of mine and will support nonetheless! 

If you guys have any ideas for clothes or accessories you'd like to see, I'm all ears! 😉

I'm absolutely buzzing you guys! We've hit so many milestones over the past few hours!

At the time of this update we have funded just over $26,000, which means we have unlocked 5 out of 7 of our planned plushies! We also just passed 400 backers! 🎉
That means that Clover Fawn, Frasier Fox, Briar Wolf, Willow Cat, and Rowan Raccoon are all officially unlocked!

Since we are getting so close to unlocking all of the critters, who are your favorites!? 

Arin (my partner) and I were just staring at our screens in absolute AWE and screaming in excitement as the numbers shot up! I truly am at a total loss for words! 

30 minutes in and we are just over $12,000 funded! That means that now both Clover and Frasier are unlocked! We are so close to getting Briar next at $14,000 — do you think we can do it before the hour is up?
